The final component of the Challenge system is its exclusive seamless latex inner tube. These tubes are automatically included in all handmade Top Tier Challenge Tubulars and are the perfect match for any Clincher, but especially for challenging handmade clinchers.

Rather than being extruded and bonded with an Overlap Gasket like our competitors’ latex tubes, our tubes are seamless which means they have no joint and therefore no additional weight on that joint or weakness in the system.

Our tubes are stronger, lighter, super flexible, shock absorbing and fit any impacting object.

The benefit of all of these super flexible attributes (latex treads, guts and tubing) is to make our soft and flexible tubulars and tires optimally deform over road and trail imperfections, greatly reducing rolling resistance.

The latest tests by Tom Anhalt, Josh Poertner, wheel Energy and Tour Germany show that you save up to 3 watts per wheel by simply changing from a butyl to a latex inner tube. The rest of our products complement and protect those soft flexible tubes.

In short, latex tubes complement our soft, tread covers so that when the tire hits road and trail imperfections, instead of bouncing, sending shock waves to the rider, bouncing around corners and forcing a burst Extra energy to overcome the extra rolling resistance, the tire absorbs the bundle and rolls it smoothly, as if it weren’t there.
